The 5-micron filter is the primary sediment barrier, catching sand, rust particles, and debris before they reach the pump inlet. The 1-micron filter provides secondary fine filtration, protecting ruby-orifice nozzles from the microscopic mineral and scale particles that clog nozzle bores and reduce mist output over time. The included pump oil is Aeromist's standard Cat Pump crankcase oil — the same ISO 68 custom blend used across all Cat Pump-based misting systems — for annual oil change service. Replacing all three items together at the start of each misting season is the most efficient way to maintain peak pump performance and protect nozzle life.
