The Rushmore See-Through is the crown of Empire's luxury line — one 40" TruFlame fire, glass on both faces, framed into the wall between two rooms. Each side gets the clean-face, edge-to-edge view of tall flames over a glowing ember bed; the sealed direct-vent system draws and exhausts outside air, and the multifunction remote runs it all, including Smart Thermostat flame modulation.

What does the Smart Thermostat mode do?
Instead of switching the fire on and off like a conventional thermostat, Smart mode modulates the flame height down as the room approaches your set temperature — steadier heat and a fire that's always burning at the right size.
Does it need a chimney?
Not a traditional one — it's a direct-vent system that vents through an approved pipe run to the outside. The venting components are configured to your installation and sold separately, and a see-through installation should always be planned with a professional.
How do I choose natural gas vs propane?
Select the variant matching your home's gas supply — the fireplace ships configured for the fuel you order.
Can I customize the look?
Yes — Empire offers interior liner styles, forged iron fronts and insets, and log set options for the Rushmore line, all sold separately, and the two faces can be finished to suit each room.
